Firstly and most importantly, I’m really excited to be working with you! I wrote this guide to share insight on how I like to work and communicate; it’s for context-setting not rules-setting.

Working styles are always a work-in-progress so consider this a living document. I’m always open to feedback about what’s helpful and what isn’t in here.

Collaboration Style

“In the trenches” determination

It’s hard to describe in words, so I’ll give a visual analogy. “You hear the buzzing of the 3D printer flash its filament on the sizzling hot plate as you twist one last screw in an actuator. You brush shoulders with your teammate as you pass the piece to him as he holds a solder on the other hand. As the clock ticked to 2AM, we flowed like one whole quilt being knitted together.”

Mission-driven synergist

I'm a mission-driven synergist - when I find alignment with a team's vision and culture, my drive becomes unstoppable. At CarbonLink, this translated into leading an engineering team from concept to 250k in funding, not just because of the technical challenge, but because we shared a passion for sustainable innovation.

Morning Go-getter

I like working in the mornings, get a feeling of accomplishment. It’s also a moment of complete silence, knowing many are sleeping, giving one deep motivation and focus.

Time-based Cadence

I like working on a time-based cadence rather project completion. I often set unrealistic expectations for completion and get stressed. But time-based is a great balance for my life and work.

Documentation, Documentation, Documentation

I love to write down things (or even visualizing them!). Documentation is my number one tool, and organization is my number one quality.

Life-Long Learner

I’m an autodidact, life-long learner. I believe some of the most obscure, overlooked concepts or domains of knowledge should be learned.
